The Manoir is located in the upper valley of Samson, in the countryside, in a protected Natura 2000 area, along a GR5 path, 1 km from the village of Gesves, 5 km from the abbey of Faulx-Les-Tombes and Mozet, one of the “Most Beautiful Villages” of Wallonia. 18 km from Namur, near the Ardennes, 65 km from Bastogne, 30 km from Durbuy, 75 km from Brussels, 120 km from Maastricht.

Park on the four sides of the Manor, beautiful terrace, orchard and romantic small garden, vegetable garden (under implementation), small swimming pool (under repair), bridge above the river, pond, inside access road from the gate, parking possible for about ten cars. The park of the manor is exclusively reserved to the guests of the manor.

During the 1914-1918 war, the occupation army confiscated the vat of the Saint-Joseph Brewery to recover copper. The activity stopped. Remains of the water mills may be visited.

During the 1940-1945 war, two Jewish children and a political prisonner were hidden in the Manoir de Houte by its owner at that time, Edgard Botton. A secret room (to be visited) was created in the roof of the manor in the part having a form of a diamond.

A Merovingian watering place as well as washing place is visible in the park. A watch tower and a fortified hamlet are also visible at 50 m from the manor.
